This Special Edition piece explores the intimate and emotionally wrought moment that Sarek mind melds with Kirk in search of Spock’s katra. Driven by the pain of his loss, Sarek is certain that Spock would have entrusted Kirk with his “living soul” and searches earnestly for it within the recesses of Kirk’s mind. But instead of Spock’s katra, they find the raw intensity of the love and loss that they both know too well.
